Hasmik Papian has specially dedicated herself to the lieder of the Armenian musicologist and composer Soghomon Soghomonian, named Komitas. In July 2005, in the frame of a concert dedicated entirely to the great founder of classical modern Armenian music, she performed his nine songs on German poems as a world première in Yerevan together with Armenian pianist Vardan Mamikonian.

Furthermore, she has studied and performed many works of contemporary Armenian composers such as Eduard Mirsoian, Tigran Mansurian, Vahram Babaian, Avet Terterian etc.
